Accommodation & Facilities
There are several buildings on site at La Daviais. The main guest house consists of an old farm cottage and barn which were converted into one longere or long house, we think about seventy years ago. This is attached to a small annexe which we have converted into a shower/toilet block (with washing and drying facilities) and a barn which serves as a garage. Finally there is a small second house on site in which we live.
The guest accommodation within the main house has a variety of bedrooms: two double rooms each with an en-suite shower room, a large 'family' room with a double and two single beds, two rooms each with two single beds, and finally, a large dormitory with bunk beds for up to ten people.

There are also separate showers and toilets on each of the two floors. If your group is particularly large we can also accommodate up to three tents within the grounds, all within easy reach of the toilet and shower block.
The large kitchen has a cooker, fridge and dish washer as well as a large oak table to seat 12 and UK satellite TV - the adjoining dining room features another long dining table capable of seating a further 12 people. The accommodation is self catering, but given 24 hours notice we can organise a choice of evening meal for everyone if you wish: we use a lot of produce from the vegetable garden as well as our own free range eggs; where this is not possible, we make a point of using as much local produce as possible.
The large lounge features comfy chairs and sofas, a satellite TV and DVD player, CD player and a bar with a fridge (stocked with a selection of beers and wines when you arrive!) as well as a pool table and PlayStation2 with it's own TV. The french doors to the lounge open on to a tiled area with beer garden styled tables and benches as well as large barbeque. The second door from the club room leads through the shower block and out to our rather wonderful 32m³ swimming pool which is situated in a natural sun trap behind the barn. The expansive planted poolside area features various chairs, tables and sun loungers as well as a small open sided barn with a table tennis table. There's also a massive trampoline as well as swings in the garden for children. And fitter adults...
Back in the house, there are very efficient wood burning stoves in both the kitchen and lounge, which along with various other heaters and efficient insulation makes the house very cosy in winter; consequently, we're able to offer accommodation throughout the year for all weather types! There's also a washing machine and a drying room with tumble dryer available.
There is a parking area in front of the house and if you're part of a group of cyclists or motorcyclists, the garage/barn can provide secure parking for your machines.
N.B. GroupGite at La Daviais is a no smoking establishment; although you may, of course, smoke in the garden or on the terrace.
